On My Honeymoon Cruise, I Overheard My Husband’s $300M Murder Plot—So I Made a Move

“That is not enough.”

Margaret:

“Then make her sign.”

Adrian sounded angry.

“She can barely hold a pen.”

Thomas:

“Exactly.”

My whole body went cold.

Margaret asked:

“What about the bank verification call?”

Thomas laughed.

“I handled that.”

“How?”

“Voice authentication.”

“That only verifies Claire.”

“We have samples.”

I pressed my hand over my mouth.

Adrian said:

“I don’t like this.”

Thomas snapped:

“You liked her money.”

Silence.

Then:

“You liked the Mercer name.”

“You liked the Mercer Star.”

“You liked the life.”

“Do not grow a conscience now.”

I leaned closer.

Adrian said:

“This was supposed to be simple.”

“What?”

Margaret asked.

“A marriage?”

“A transfer?”

Adrian’s voice dropped.

“She wasn’t supposed to get this sick.”

Thomas replied:

“That is useful.”
