Online gallbladder cleanses commonly recommend combinations of olive oil, citrus juice, herbs, or other substances.
These approaches have not been shown to reliably remove gallstones from the gallbladder.
The soft green or yellow lumps sometimes passed after these cleanses may form from oil and digestive material rather than representing actual gallstones.
Trying to treat serious gallbladder disease with a cleanse may also delay necessary medical treatment.
