    Variations & Tips

Milder Version: If you are serving kids or anyone sensitive to heat, use regular ranch seasoning instead of spicy ranch. You will still get that savory, tangy flavor without the extra kick.

Extra Cheesy: For a richer tray, increase the cheese to 2 1/2 cups. A mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack melts especially nicely and gives you a gooier center.

Make-Ahead Tip: You can assemble the dish a few hours ahead, cover it, and refrigerate

until baking time. If it is going into the oven cold, add a few extra minutes so the center cooks through evenly.
