My husband secretly married his mistress while I was at work, then returned from his “business trip” expecting to walk back into my $10 million bungalow. But his key no longer worked, because the wife he betrayed had already sold the palace he thought he owned.

Then he kicked the gate.

The new security guard stepped forward. “Sir, please do not damage private property.”

Robert stared at him as if he had spoken another language. “Private property? This is my house.”

The guard glanced at his clipboard. “No, sir. The property changed ownership yesterday.”

Tiffany took off her sunglasses. “What?”

My mother-in-law shoved past them both. “Call Audrey. Tell her to stop this childish nonsense at once.”

Instead, the guard lifted a sealed envelope from the desk. “This was left for Mr. Robert Miller.”

Robert ripped it open right there at the gate. I watched through the camera as three things slipped into his hands:

The sale deed.

The divorce petition.

A printed photograph from his secret wedding.

His face changed instantly. Not anger. Not outrage. Fear.

And then the front door opened. A tall man in a black suit stepped out onto the front path. Not my lawyer. Not security. The new owner.
