She was eight months pregnant with our sixth child when my husband packed up and said, “I need a few days alone.” Then he disappeared. When our baby was finally born, I received something that revealed what he had been planning all that time

For a moment, his expression changed.

He seemed nervous.

Almost guilty.

“I can’t explain it to you now,” he said. “I just need you to trust me.”

“What do you trust? You’re leaving when I’m about to give birth to our sixth child.”

He didn’t say anything.

Then he kissed me on the forehead, took his bag and left.

For the first few days, Daniel was still sending me short messages.

I’m fine.

Please take care of yourself.

Take care of the children.

But every time I asked him where he was or when he was going to come back, he ignored the question.

Afterwards, the messages stopped coming completely.

His phone went straight to voicemail.

His co-workers hadn’t seen him.

His brother said he had no idea where he was.

Even his best friend claimed that Daniel had not contacted him.

Meanwhile, I was trying to take care of five children while wondering if my husband would ever come back to our doorstep.
